Collaborations, commissioned work, and commercial projects.
This collection showcases creative partnerships, client-driven pieces, and professional commissions where vision, communication, and artistry meet. Every project is a balance of creative freedom and thoughtful execution.
You Got This
I was commissioned to create the artwork for a design featured in the Legacy Collection, a campaign centered on RSVLTS co-founder Stephen Gebhardt. The request was for flash-style tattoo art to be placed on the chest and back.
The design features roses and a two-toned gold thumbs-up that has become synonymous with Steve. On the back is a heart framed with matching roses and a gold ribbon reading “You Got This.” I always envisioned the roper itself in black with gold piping.
This design resonates deeply with me. Beyond being a symbol of encouragement, the roper was released the day before my father passed away. It felt almost like Steve knew I needed that message. Wearing it makes me feel close to both of them and honors their memory.
Boba Blast
This design is one of my personal favorites. The inspiration behind it also brought me closer to RSVLTS Creative Director John Tramutolo, as we bonded over our shared love of art.
I told John the piece was inspired by one of my favorite RSVLTS designs and that I wanted to capture a similar vibe. Coincidentally, I had already finished the design in anticipation of pitching the idea. When John later reached out looking for “something abstract” for San Diego Comic Con, I sent it over and received an enthusiastic “hell yeah.”
Since it was one of my earliest designs, I was also learning how to create seamless repeating patterns. Bright greens, deep reds, and stark black outlines define the piece while maintaining balance within the chaos.
Originally released as a convention exclusive, the design was later sold on the company’s website for everyone to enjoy.
Sugar Squadron
This design combines three of my favorite things: Halloween, Star Wars, and RSVLTS.
Sugar Squadron was inspired by iconic elements from Star Wars lore but reimagined with a playful, whimsical twist. Stormtroopers became Sour Patch Troopers, and candy corn took on the shape of a Star Destroyer. Once I saw the resemblance, I ran with it.
Each element pops against a deep purple background. Balancing the pattern was a challenge, but the goal was to deliver something visually fun and unlike anything the brand had released before.
Offworld Watchers
Glowing yellow eyes. Cute but creepy. Jawas are mysterious little buggers.
I began this design by sketching and inking the Jawas, placing them randomly throughout the pattern while leaving simple dots as placeholders for their eyes. After refining each Jawa and adjusting lines to complete the pattern, I created a separate layer for the eyes and added a subtle glow effect. Then I repeated that process roughly ninety times.
Interestingly, this version was actually the second colorway. The original concept used brown tones with glowing yellow eyes. RSVLTS often surprises fans with alternate colorways months later, so I tend to keep that possibility in mind when designing.
I presented both versions, and the muted purple-brown Jawas with red eyes were selected. Maybe someday the original version will make an appearance.
The Bad Patch
The OG. The one that started it all. This was the very first design I ever created, pitched, and sold to RSVLTS. I wanted to give them something unique. At the time, The Bad Batch series had not yet been fully explored in apparel, and I had never seen a patch-style embroidered design applied to this format. Using Procreate, I created a custom brush that simulated thread. Each patch was built piece by piece in a painstaking process that required plenty of patience and a bit of eye-crossing concentration. I combined the elements with subtle drop shadows to create depth.
I always imagined this design as a convention exclusive and dreamed of one day seeing it displayed on the big blue RSVLTS wall. In 2025 I attended San Diego Comic Con for the first time, and about a year and a half later I finally saw it there alongside designs from many incredible artists. It was an unforgettable moment.
Artistic Rebellion (AKA “Technicolor Rebels”)
This design was an unexpected creation that ultimately became the first of my designs released by RSVLTS.
I’ve always felt that the series Rebels captures the heart of Star Wars. The show’s distinct animation style combined with bold, abstract digital oil-paint textures inspired the direction of this piece.
I began by creating the members of the Ghost Crew but realized I needed more characters to complete the composition. I added Rex, Ahsoka, and Hondo, three recurring characters who played important roles in the story.
Procreate is an incredible tool, but its canvas limitations required a workaround. I created each character individually and then assembled them on a new canvas, carefully spacing them into a cohesive layout. Set against a black background, the vibrant colors stand on their own without the need for framing.
Although The Bad Patch was my first design created, this one holds a special place as the first to be officially released.
Ashes of Alderan
Recently I started learning to play guitar, and shortly after, my wife picked up the drums. Being huge Star Wars fans, we joked that we would make a great band. An imaginary one, of course.
So the fake punk/emo band Ashes of Alderaan was born. And what’s a band without merch?
I created a band logo along with a design for our fictional “tour” across the galaxy. Eventually we plan to have actual shirts and merch made just for fun.
The Punk Trooper
This design features a profile view of the custom Punk Trooper helmet I built.
The artwork was created with a vector-style approach to make it ideal for stickers and future patches. The focus was on clean shapes and minimal color blending to keep the design bold and easily reproducible.
Captain Steve
With a cruise planned for summer 2025 featuring more than 100 RSVLTS friends, I was asked to design a commemorative pin. After presenting six concepts, we landed on Captain Steve.
The design builds on the RSVLTS tribute logo created in honor of co-founder Stephen Gebhardt, adding a captain’s hat and aviator sunglasses.
For the 2026 cruise, I also created the first RSVLTS “cruise tux,” featuring a matching shirt and shorts combo.
Since Captain Steve appeared on the inaugural cruise, it felt fitting to feature him on the tux as well. Because the tux design is full color, I created an upgraded version of Captain Steve to match.
Fascinated by the human form, especially the face.
I love capturing expression, emotion, and subtle imperfections. A wrinkle in the forehead, a freckle on the nose, a fleeting look. The tiny details that turn a face into a story. After observing the subject(s), I feel like I begin to know them personally.
